I needed to do manual adjustments to the config files of N64oid, Redream, Dolphin MMJR and Retroarch to get them to find roms on my SD card. MD.emu, GBA.emu, Snes9x, FPSE, Official Dolphin and PPSSPP for example all have proper SD card support and won't have any issues. Out of the box the latest version of NES.emu. Android 11's Scoped Storage can be a pain for SD card users, especially for apps that are not updated to use it yet, so you may have to manually fix some configuration files to get everything to map to the SD card. So far all of my data and roms transferred over with no major issues, there will be one challenge though.
